Field Report: Student Trainee
Student Trainee at the department Engineering
Erwin, former working student in the engineering department:
Hello, my name is Erwin, I am currently doing my six-month internship at Teijin Carbon Europe GmbH in the engineering department.
I am an enrolled student at the FH Aachen in mechanical engineering, this is my fifth semester.
After a speculative application to Teijin, I received an invitation to a personal interview a short time later, which was very open and friendly. The job description had also appealed to me very much.
The activities as a project engineer are very varied.
From the first day, I was fully involved when it came to: designing, creating drawings, writing technical reports, making optimizations, being in constant exchange with employees and partner companies, obtaining offers, looking at challenges on site and working out solutions.
The support from the engineering department is excellent. You are given responsibility and are allowed to work on tasks independently. If anything is unclear, the help provided by the experienced engineers is targeted and precise. In addition, the working atmosphere is pleasant and you look forward to working with your colleagues.
Anyone who has to/wants to/cannot complete an internship during their studies, I recommend applying to Teijin Carbon Europe on your own initiative. Proactively, because there are no job postings explicitly for interns, but they are welcome.
