We’d like to take this moment to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported us so far.
 
Our very beginning goes back to the development of manufacturing artificial silk, or rayon, by two engineers, Seita Kumura and Itsuzo Hata, with the financial support of Naokichi Kaneko, chief clerk at general trading company Suzuki Shoten, then at the zenith of its power.

While the road to success was anything but smooth, the unshakable confidence and the passion of these gentlemen led to the establishment of Japan’s first manufacturing #technology for artificial silk, to the founding of Teikoku Jinzo-Kenshi, precursor of Teijin, on June 17, 1918 
 
This picture was taken at the Japan’s first viscose-method artificial silk yarn manufacturing plant in Yonezawa, Japan, showing the passion and strong will of the employees at that time, who looked ahead to the future!

Since our founding, we have faced many challenges and overcome them together as a team.
We will continue to innovate and take on challenges in order to realize our long-term vision to become a company that supports the society of the future
