At this year’s Oil and Gas Non-Metallics Conference, on October 30-31, in London, Teijin’s daughter companies Teijin Aramid and Teijin Carbon Europe show innovative solutions for the oil and gas off shore industry. Second year in succession, the Teijin companies are the headline sponsors of this high level international event. The conference is designated as the leading learning and networking space for suppliers of polymer-based products and solutions for the Oil & Gas industry.

Cost efficiency and minimizing the risk of Oil & Gas industry operations are critically important in the development of non-metallic applications. Based upon their fiber and polyethylene products Twaron®, Technora®, Endumax®, and Tenax®, Teijin demonstrates how these solutions can replace steel efficiently. Especially offshore environments can benefit from the use of Teijin para-aramid Twaron®, within their solutions. Because of the lightweight and flexibility aspects, it is possible to develop solutions with improved product performance, extended product lifetimes, longer lengths and significantly reduced installation cost and time. Furthermore, flexible pipes can be used more often and replaced easily compared to rigid steel pipes.

Attendees can participate in a comprehensive conference program. At the first session on October 30, Bo Cornelissen, R&D Scientist at Teijin Aramid, will give a presentation providing information about the mechanical performance of aramid in braided constructions and how to use the full potential of aramid yarn.

The Oil & Gas Non-Metallics conference is organized by the Applied Market Information Ltd. and takes place at the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel in London from October 30-31. Areas like composite pipes, tanks, cable insulation, seals, adhesives, coatings, insulation, packers, hoses, liners and blow out preventers will be covered by the conference program.
